I feel like it’s so hard for people to get past conflict because xenophobia is instinctual. It’s a part of people. It’s sort of rooted in our DNA... It’s really our goal to overcome that. While natural reactions to things can be scary, they can also be beautiful. I feel like the responses I get towards my insects are genuine, and they are very pure and innocent, and childlike, because we haven’t been taught about these things. I feel like exploring that avenue of human reactions of instinct and xenophobia by understanding it, we can better devise ways to deal with each other and to deal with people that are very different from us.
